UFC middleweight champion Georges St-Pierre and his trainer Firas Zahabi were in Bradenton, Fla., for the grand opening of the TimTam Recovery Center at IMG Academy on Monday. The Center is the first of many planned for the United States. “TimTam together with IMG Academy aligns us with the top brands in athletics,” said Tom Pepe, Managing Director of TimTam. “Recovery is a critical part of training and IMG allows us to introduce recovery to a diverse population of athletes from around the world”   TimTam is the official recovery sponsor of IMG Academy. In addition to the new Recovery Center, TimTam products including the Power and Polish Pro along with a host of halo products are available to the thousands of athletes who train at IMG throughout the year.   > “I love the products, and \[Georges and I\] use them every day,” remarked Zahabi at the ribbon drop event. “It’s a real, authentic system for people who train hard. Training and recovery go hand-in-hand, so this is the beginning of a new era.” The TimTam Recovery Center is nearly 2,000-square feet in size, and provides a relaxing atmosphere with diverse recovery modalities in the space, encouraging the acceleration of physical and mental recovery from training. > “This center finally gives IMG a designated space with the sole purpose of intentional recovery,” said IMG Academy Head of Athletic Training Jared White. “We often emphasize the importance of recovery, and this relationship with TimTam allows us to achieve that in an effective way, and in a comfortable space that draws athletes in."   IMG Academy is a premier destination for aspiring athletes at all levels of sport. In addition to more than 1,100 boarding school students on campus, IMG trains more than 11,000 campers and hundreds of professional athletes annually. Alumni and trainees of IMG include the likes of five-time Grand Slam Champion Maria Sharapova, Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton, Orlando Magic forward Jon Isaac, former Team USA goalkeeper Tim Howard and San Francisco Giants OF Andrew McCutchen.
