How to Use the All new Power Massager: A Step-by-Step ----------------------------------------------------- ### Getting Started & Making the Most of Your Recovery ![All_New_large (1).jpg](/uploads/All_New_large_1_80612ad01f.jpg) 1. **Charge the All New**. Use the included wall charger to bring your All New to a full battery. Depending on the amount of pressure your apply, the battery of your All New should last about 40 minutes. 2. **Insert the battery pack into the base**. Your battery should slide in smoothly. Apply pressure with the palm of your hand to ensure the battery is entirely locked in. 3. **Turn on with the one-touch trigger**. The one-touch trigger allows you to have a greater range of motion for applying the All New to various muscle groups. Power on by pushing the one-touch trigger in all the way, releasing when massaging. 4. **Apply the massaging tip to muscles**. It’s very important to have the All New turned on prior to applying to the body. If you turn on the All New while it’s on your muscles (or worse, a bone) you can cause yourself injury. Use the All New to massage sore muscles, trigger points, and more, applying more pressure where needed. 5. **Switch out your tip**. If you’re interested in using a [hot or cold tip](https://timtam.tech/collections/massager-tips/products/hot-cold-tip-bundle) for your therapy, start by turning off your All New with the one-touch trigger. Either heat your hot tip or pull your cold tip from its cooling location, screwing it on to the tip of your All New.  6. **Once treatment is completed, turn off the All New** using one-touch trigger 7. **Store in the carrying case** for easy transport, protection, and compact storage 8. **When it’s time to charge your All New, be careful not to overcharge**. Much like a laptop that you leave plugged in overnight, the battery can fry and become dependent on the power source. To ensure the longevity of your All New, charge sparingly and only when necessary. When to Use the All New Power Massager -------------------------------------- ### Deciding Between Pre- and Post-Workout Massage ![All_New_Power_Calf_large (1).jpg](/uploads/All_New_Power_Calf_large_1_05d852dcf3.jpg) The great thing about the All New is that it is great for both pre- and post-workout massage. While recovery is commonly associated with strictly post-workout practices, preventing further injury to your muscles and maintaining a peak performance ability is a constant process. The pre-workout benefits of the All New include the ability to warm up your muscles. Percussive massage increases blood flow to your muscles so you are warm and ready to get moving. This can prevent injury by not being properly warmed up. Additionally, a pre-workout massage can start relaxing tight fascia and tissues, which in turn will help you retain a full range of motion and maximum power output during your workout. Using the All New for post-workout recovery helps treat the effects of DOMS, or delayed onset muscle soreness. When working out and gaining muscle, you will create microtears, also known as micro-traumas in your muscles. These microtears occur deep in your muscles close to the tendons, making them hard to reach. The massage with the All New helps attract blood flow to these muscle fibers so that they have the nutrients necessary to heal faster. Where to Use the All New ------------------------ ### Treatment Based on Body Location ![TimTam_Blade_large (1).jpg](/uploads/Tim_Tam_Blade_large_1_bbe9c69e14.jpg) When using the All New for recovery, it’s important to know the exact locations that the All new can help. Try out these four locations for optimum performance: * **Myofascial trigger points**, also known as knots, are tough areas under the skin caused by either repetitive motion or a sedentary lifestyle that can lead to serious pain and discomfort. The All New can help break down these knots and lead to relief.  * **Aching muscles after a workout** can be a result of DOMS, or delayed onset muscle soreness. For example, if you hit the gym a little too hard during leg day, your muscles could ache for a few days afterward. The All New can be applied to these aching muscle groups to accelerate your recovery and get you back to training sooner.  * **Muscle groups that need a warmup** are a common place to use the All New. This is a great proactive approach to recovery used by athletes who exert heavily on specific muscles - like runners or pitchers - and want to prevent injury caused by powerful repetitive motion. * **Achey and stiff muscle** can be a result of tight connective tissue and fascia. Help relax these tissues with massage from the All New so fascia can be restored to its elastic, free-moving state. The All new Power massager changes the way we look at training and recovery. According to the National Strength and Conditioning Association, a warm-up is defined as “preparatory activities and functionally based movements that are specifically designed to prepare the body for exercise or sport”. Designing an adequate warmup is usually dependent on the athlete’s needs, goals, and abilities.¹ The goal is to mentally and physically prepare the athlete for a training session or competition; while reducing the risk of injury. Benefits of a well designed warm-up are as follows:² Psychological readiness and preparation Increased blood flow to active muscles Increased strength and power output Improved joint range of motion Increased core temperature Enhanced oxygen delivery Faster muscle contraction and relaxation There are many warm-up procedures that a coach or athlete may implement into their training routine. Learning about the advantages of different procedures is crucial to building an effective warm-up specific to yourself or another individual. This article will discuss traditional procedures like static and dynamic stretching; as well as some newer modalities aiding in the speed and effectiveness of a warmup.
